50/50 Raffle
Donation: $2.00
To Benefit Local Charities
Drawing on Thursday, December 8, 2005 - 7:00 pm
Our 50/50 Raffle was held on December 8th, 2005 at 7:00pm at Billy and Madeline's Red Room.
This fundraising event raised over twenty five hundred dollars of which half went to help local charities in the Hanover area of New Jersey. The lucky winner was Trudy Burns who received a check for $1258.00. Congratulations!
I would like to thank all of our dedicated members who helped make this fundraising event a success!
Hanover Township Appreciation Day
Malapardis Park
Saturday, September 10th, 2005 - 1:00 pm
The Kiwanis Club of The Hanovers participated in the Hanover Township Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 10th, 2005.
The club setup a table in the park and prepared 2000 sausage and pepper hero's for the visitors.
We would like to thank Billy's Red Room for donating the sausages and Wigder Chevrolet of Livingston for donating the hero bread.
As always, this event could not have been possible without the help of our dedicated club members.
Somerset Patriots Baseball Game
Somerset Stadium
Sunday, July 17th, 2005 - 11:00 am
We sponsored a day of fun on July 17th by taking a group of orphans from Newark, NJ and Dover, NJ to a Somerset Patriots Baseball game.
Everyone had a great time up until the seventh inning when the game was called on account of rain.
A special thanks to My Limo of East Hanover for donating the van and providing a driver for the day.
5th Annual Golf Fundraiser
Brooklake Country Club
Thursday, July 14th, 2005 - 10:00 am
This year we held our 5th annual golf fundraiser at the Brooklake Country Club on July 14th, 2005.
More then 30 golfers participated in the outing which raised over twenty five hundred dollars and benefited several New Jersey charities.
Prizes were awarded to the top ten golfers with the best scores.
Once again, our success for the event was due to the efforts of our club members, hole sponsors, and golfers. Thanks everyone for all the help!
The Seventh Annual 5K
Firehouse Pizza Run
To Benefit the Cheshire Home
Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 8:00 am
The Kiwanis Club of The Hanovers and the Firehouse Pizza sponsored the Seventh Annual 5k Run to benefit the Cheshire Home of Florham Park, NJ on June 5th, 2005.
Over 130 runners participated in this exciting event which started at Madison High School, went through Florham Park and Madison and finished at the Cheshire Home.
Trophies were awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female runners in a variety of age groups.
This year we made a generous donation to the Cheshire Home and became a gold medal circle sponsor for the run.
Thanks to all of the volunteer's who helped make this event such a success!
2nd Annual Bowl-A-Thon
To Benefit the Jersey Battered Women's Services
Hanover Lanes
Monday, May 23, 2005 - 6:30 pm
This year we challenged the Kiwanis Club of Parsippany and the Aktion Club in a bowling tournament to raise money for the Jersey Battered Women's Services of Morris County.
Over 30 bowlers participated in the three game tournament which raised more then $550 for the charity.
The Aktion Club surprised everyone by beating both Kiwanis Clubs and winning the trophy.
A special thanks to Mike Dunn, Manager of Hanover Lanes for donating the lanes and the shoes.
As always, thanks to the bowlers for making this an enjoyable and successful fundraiser.
Employment Horizons Breakfast
10 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls
Friday, April 15th, 2005 - 8:00 am
We meet for breakfast on Friday, April 15th, 8:00 am at Employment Horizons with the Director of Development, Ellen Abel and the Director of Sales and Marketing, Maria C. Florio.
After a receiving a tour of their facilities we presented them with a check for $500 which was used for improvements to their loading dock.
About Employment Horizons
Employment Horizons is an accredited private, not-for-profit agency that provides comprehensive employment, training and job placement services to approximately 550 persons with disabilities and other special needs. This is accomplished by creating partnerships with local businesses that allow them to train workers at their agency-based work center.
These individuals who have a variety of cognitive and physical challenges, all have a common goal - to work, be self-sufficient and earn a paycheck.
2nd Annual Raffle Fundraiser - $500 Shopping Spree at P. C. Richards

Hanover Marriott Hotel
Our 2nd annual raffle was held on February 10, 2005 at 6:30pm at the Hanover Marriott Hotel.
This fundraising event raised over two thousand dollars and benefited several local charities in the Hanover area of New Jersey. The lucky winner was Howard Gogel who received a $500.00 Shopping Spree at P. C. Richards.
